What Makes Us Different?
We are a real shop, with real customers who come in every day and buy fine foods from us. That shouldn't be so special really, but it's almost unique in the world of gift baskets. You see, people come into our shop to do their weekly shopping, to buy special ingredients for special dinners and to buy gifts. They also choose the contents of gift baskets for their friends, families and business associates from products we have in stock here.
Still doesn't sound too special does it?
Why this is different is that we have learnt what people like, because that's what they buy!
A typical gift basket supplier has no contact with the recipients of their gifts, whereas we regularly have them popping in to see us and buy more. A typical gift basket company doesn't usually think beyond the giver, who is the one who pays them. A typical gift basket company puts in nicely packaged products which look the part, but may not live up to expectations when it comes to taste.
The trouble is that politeness prevents those other gift basket companies from ever knowing that. The recipients are too polite to tell the giver that what they received wasn't up to scratch. The giver doesn't know, and the typical gift basket company only ever talks to the giver.
What makes us different is that we want the recipients to become our customers. Our in-store customers are buying for their own use, and we're just a little shop so people take their time and talk to us, and we listen.
